Charts breaking down the 9,000 Windows Phone 7 apps

Following up to the report yesterday of the 9,000 apps available in the Windows Phone Marketplace. Today WP7AppsList is showing a few telling charts of the distribution of those apps. They show that there are currently 9016 available apps and 31% of them are available for free (2,795) and 6,231 are paid with an average price of $2.20 per app. What’s even more interesting is the number of developers is increasing (now at about 4,000)… but the number of new apps submitted has steadily declined over the past couple months. In addition, the games category still leads with the most apps at 23%, followed by Tools with 14% and Entertainment at 12%.
