RIM finally announced the launch date and pricing for their upcoming and anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook tablet earlier this week. Launching on April 19th for the 16GB PlayBook with Wi-Fi is $499.99; 32GB PlayBook with Wi-Fi is $599.99 and 64GB PlayBook with Wi-Fi is $699.99.
Staples just issues a press release that is good in a couple ways when it comes to the release of the PlayBook. First, their price points are coming slightly cheaper than everyone else… only $0.50 – $1.00 but hey the money is much better in your pocket. Also, Staples will be opening select stores at 12:00 am on the 19th for those who want to grab hold of the PlayBook. Staples did not mention which stores are on the list but we’ve reached out to Staples for a complete list.
“The BlackBerry PlayBook is currently available for pre-order at Staples.ca and at every Staples store across the country. Staples also plans to open selected stores at 12:00 am on April 19th to allow customers to be first in line to own this new technology.”
