TELUS donates $25,000 and free long distance to help Slave Lake residents,

Slave Lake is a small town of 7,000 in northern Alberta that has suddenly made some unfortunate news. A forest fire has ripped through the town, destroying schools, libraries and has forced residents to evacuate. TELUS has stepped up to help out in many ways: donating $25,000 to the Red Cross for relief efforts, offering free wireless long distance calling to all residents in the community for at least the next week, shipping 1,000 long distance and prepaid wireless calling cards and sending 1,500 “comfort kits” that are packed with toiletries.

If you want to help out you can text “REDCROSS” to 30333 to donate $5 to The Canadian Red Cross Society.
