Apple is a different breed of company. Over the past number of years it seems like they can’t do anything wrong. Even if they put out faulty products with bad reception issues their revenues are still at a record high. There are legions of Apple fan-boys/girls but there are those who disagree with their plans (Adobe is a great example). A recent BBC documentary called the “Secrets of the Superbrands” they take a look inside to understand to see how companies like Apple have such a loyal fan base.
Alex Riley of the BBC wrote that “I searched high and low for answers. The Bishop of Buckingham – who reads his Bible on an iPad – explained to me the similarities between Apple and a religion. And when a team of neuroscientists with an MRI scanner took a look inside the brain of an Apple fanatic it seemed the bishop was on to something. The results suggested that Apple was actually stimulating the same parts of the brain as religious imagery does in people of faith.”
The person that was interviewed was author Alex Brooks who wrote “World of Apple”. Brooks claims he thinks about Apple 24-hours a day… so he’s probably the exception but you cannot take away the massive lineups every time an Apple product is released.
