Video: Quick look at the upcoming Rogers LTE HTC Jetstream, plus Speedtest results

Rogers will be exclusively launch the HTC Jetstream, this was formally known as the “Puccini”. It’s LTE-enabled and will officially be available nationwide on October 18th, but it’s now up for pre-order. As for prices, the Jetstream will range between $799.99 outright to $499.99 on a 3-year. On the plus side, Rogers has a data plan promo that gives you 10GB for $50/month.

As for the actual tablet, it’s reminiscent of the previous HTC tablet called the Flyer. However, the Jetstream is faster by theoretical data speeds as it hooks onto Rogers “Beyond 4G” LTE network. In the video you’ll see I did a few Speedtest tests and the Jetstream clocked in at the highest download speed of 43.46Mbps to 20.24Mbps, meanwhile upload speeds hit between 20.43Mbps to 10.96Mbps. This was right in the average speeds that Rogers is currently promoting, but must preface that I was inside the pimped out Rogers LTE bus when the tests were completed.

The Jetstream has a 10.1-inch display (resolution of 1280×800), runs Android OS 3.1 (Honeycomb) and inside comes packed with a dual core 1.5ghz processor, 1GB RAM and 32GB storage. We’ll test the battery life in our full review but it has a 7300 mAh battery, which can apparently last up to 12 hours. This also has a couple cameras, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and auto-focus, plus a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. You can also use the HTC Scribe pen that gives you the option to take notes, drawing and capturing screenshots – this will be sold separately for $79.99.

We’ll have a full review up shortly… for now there are a couple videos along with the results from the Speedtest.
