October 19th: Samsung and Google to unveil Nexus Prime & Android Ice Cream Sandwich

Now this is promising. Samsung and Google have sent out invites to a joint event happening on October 19th. It’s taking place in Hong Kong at the All Things Digital: AsiaD conference. This is when both companies are expected to finally show of the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime, but also the new Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich” OS. The event starts at 10:00am HKT but you can watch a live stream via the YouTube Android Developers channel. There is a 12-hour time difference so the event will actually take place 10:00pm EST on October 18th.

Earlier this week a video popped up online, showing off the Prime and ICS – both looking amazing. It’s rumoured that this “pure Android” is 9mm thin and comes with a 4.65-inch HD display that has a resolution of 1280×720, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel that can capture 1080p HD videos and a 2050mAh battery.
