10-Digit Local dialing coming to Manitoba, so is area code 431

Manitoba: You’ll soon be needing to do a little extra dialing for local numbers. According to the CRTC, the 10-Digit Local dialing (area code plus the 7-digit number) will officially be in place starting July 29th, 2012 – but they want you to get into practice as early as December 1st, 2011. In addition, the 204 area code is expected to reach its capacity November 2012 and a new 431 area code will be introduced.
