Swype not coming to Galaxy Nexus just yet

Swype, which was bought recently by Nuance, is not coming to the Galaxy Nexus just yet. The team behind, in our opinion, the fastest way to type on a touchscreen, said in a tweet that because Google changed the way they report resolutions in Ice Cream Sandwich, current builds of Swype are incompatible.

There is no set date as to when it will become available but they said they are working on it as fast as possible.

While the keyboard in Ice Cream Sandwich is a huge improvement over previous stock versions, Swype has made a name for itself in the Android community being pre-loaded on dozens of carrier-sold devices, as well as keeping fanboys happy with a very successful beta program.

We’ll let you know as soon as Swype can be had for your Galaxy Nexus but, in the meantime, there are always alternatives to the alternatives.
