LG Optimus Black and Optimus 3D get official CyanogenMOD 7 support, nightly builds

Four LG devices have been inducted to the illustrious club that is CyanogenMOD 7, among them the Canadian versions of the Optimus Black and Optimus 3D. These devices, despite being out for several months, have been slow to receive official support by the popular Android mod, likely because they utilize highly customized hardware. In the case of the Optimus 3D, developer Ricardo Cerqueira had to reverse-engineer many of the 3D features inside the ROM and make it backwards compatible with existing LG code inside the CM7 infrastructure.

To begin downloading the modded firmware versions, which run on a backbone of Android 2.3.6, head on over to Google or XDA-Developers to figure out how to root your device, but once you’ve got that down, it’s pretty easy sailing.
