HTC to unveil at least one Android superphone at Mobile World Congress in February

While HTC is expected to unveil a power dual-core device at CES next week, it will save its quad-core flagship for Mobile World Congress in February. The Barcelona-based trade show is where Samsung announced the Galaxy S II in 2011 and seems to be the ideal for HTC to announce what it expected to be the HTC Edge. This jibes with what we’ve previously heard about HTC premiering two phones and a tablet at the February trade show.

The quad-core smartphone will likely have a Tegra 3 processor inside, with 1GB of RAM and a 4.3-inch 720p display.

It is also possible that HTC will show us a device with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 chipset, likely the LTE-sporting MSM8960… it could be the Ice Cream Sandwich-powered HTC Ville that we’ve heard so much about.

Nevertheless, there should be some exciting times ahead for HTC fans, especially since they promised to do better in 2012 than they did in 2011.
