Nokia to give Symbian one last hurrah in the Nokia 803

If rumours are to be believed — though there is a leaked manual to back it up — Nokia is to give Symbian one last big break in its flagship Nokia 803. According to the information, the successor to the N8 will have “the largest camera sensor ever” in a phone, likely with Carl Zeiss optics, which would be a pretty awesome feat. If the company could get the device to take 1080p video at 30fps with continual autofocus, something the N8 could only do at 720p, they’d have quite a camera-lovers’ dream on its hands.

Other rumoured specs include a 3.5 to 4-inch AMOLED display with HDMI out, microSIM slot and NFC capabilities. And, of course, it will be running Nokia Belle (formerly Symbian Belle) with, likely, a 1Ghz single-core processor and 512MB RAM. By the sounds of it, the phone will be out in May.

Is this to your liking, or have you already moved on? There are sure to be some remaining Symbian fans in Canada, so lend us your ears.
