LG makes the Optimus 4X HD official, Tegra 3 with 720p screen under 9mm

The quad-core Tegra 3-powered LG X3, the cool-looking follow up to the Optimus 2X and G2x, is going to hit the market sometime this year as the Optimus 4X HD. Why 4X? Because it has four cores, double the number as the previous 2X. Get it? Good.

It has already been benchmarked and looks like it will rival many of the other high-end phones for performance, and aesthetic, supremacy when it is launched. Rogers, Fido, WIND and Mobilicity all launched the Optimus 2X so we can be sure that there will be some Canadian carrier love when it arrives.

You’ll recall the Optimus 4X HD has a 4.7-inch 720p screen, an 8MP camera, 2000mAh battery with 21Mbps HSPA+, running Android 4.0.3. The handset also has a very thin bezel, and is under 9mm thick. To say we are excited about the Optimus 4X HD is putting it mildly.

LG is planning on launching a number of devices at Mobile World Congress, including the 3D-capable Optimus 3D Cube, the 5-inch Vu phone/tablet combo, and a number of midrange L-Style devices.
