Nova Launcher 1.0 released for Ice Cream Sandwich devices, is the best custom launcher on the platform

Nova Launcher by Teslacoil Software is one of the most feature-filled launcher replacements for Ice Cream Sandwich devices and has been in beta for a long time. Through 15 revisions the launcher got better and snappier, but largely maintained the same look and feel as the default one bundled with Android 4.0.

They’ve finally reached version 1.0 and are launching a free and paid version in the Android Marketplace. The free version has a lot of great features, including a scrolling dock and resizable widget support, but the $4 paid version adds custom gestures and the ability to hide apps in the drawer itself.

While Nova is only available for Android 4.0+ devices — so just over 1% of total Android users — it’s nice to know that once other devices are upgraded Nova will be there to save them from their custom skin dissatisfaction.

Check out Nova Launcher (free) and Nova Launcher Prime ($4) in the Marketplace.
