tbaytel to release the Samsung Galaxy Note, sans LTE speeds

The Samsung Galaxy Note is heading to Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, courtesy of the partnership between tbaytel and Rogers. Taking a look at this internal doc shows all the specs and pricing that we’re used to seeing with the Note, but one glaring omission is LTE. Currently tbaytel only has HSPA+ 4G speeds that’ll reach “up to 21Mbps”, so depending how the upcoming 700MHz spectrum auction pans out will/won’t see LTE (Long Term Evolution) reach them.

However, in the meantime this solid Android-powered device runs OS 2.3 Gingerbread and is on an upgrade path to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition, this comes with Samsung’s S Pen, 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display (1280 x 800), 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8MP Camera that shoots 1080p videos and a 2,500 mAh battery. The Note will officially be available on tbaytel on Monday, March 12th (tomorrow) for the following prices: 3-year is $199.99; 2-year term is $399.99; 1-year for $599.99 and the no-term is $699.99.
