Apple: “Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts”

Did you expect a different response from them? Since announcing the New iPad last Wednesday Apple has already sold out of their fist batch of shipments. Ten initial launch countries will be graced with their newest tablet: Canada, U.S., United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. When the pre-order opportunity went live on the Apple site they stated “Order now for delivery between March 16 and March 20”, now a short 4 days later all models have been pushed way back to an availability sometime between “2-3 weeks”.

An Apple spokesperson stated to CNET that “Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for pre-order has been purchased. Customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date.”

The new iPad will go on sale in Canada this Friday starting from $519 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only version, the Wi-Fi 4G LTE model starts $649 for the 16GB and rises to $849 for the 64GB.

Get ready for huge lineups.
