Microsoft’s WP7 “Code Camp” roadshow kicking off next week in Montreal

There’s been a lot of love for Microsoft’s Windows Phone in Canada over the past few months. The big upgrade to OS 7.5 Mango was pushed through and various devices have been released by several carriers: HTC Radar (Wind, SaskTel and Videotron), Nokia Lumia 710 (Rogers), Lumia 800 (TELUS) and the Lumia 900 LTE is coming soon to Rogers. In addition the Windows Phone Marketplace just surpassed the 70,000 app milestone.

Next week Microsoft, in collaboration with Wavefront, will be kicking of a few workshops that will encourage developers to learn how to build apps/games for the Marketplace. It’ll cost $25 for the day and you’ll get a walkthrough on the basic steps of app building, submitting your app for approval, and ask question from those who’ve already found success in building for WP7. Microsoft says the perfect person to attend the workshop are “Developers with an iOS or Android app ready to port to Windows Phone”.

The Code Camp is hitting Montreal (March 26th); Ottawa (March 27th); Toronto (March 28th) and Vancouver (date to be announced).
