Nokia Lumia 800 software update to fix battery life starts rolling out, no word on when it’ll be available for TELUS users

Nokia has started to rollout the software update for the Lumia 800. This, according to Nokia, will be OS version 1600.2487.8107.12070 and will mainly fix the battery issues. Nokia stated in their blog post that they put the battery through “rigorous tests, and what came out was an update that shows significant improvements.” In addition, they’ve improved the bass in the audio, and confirmed that “WiFi tethering will be available,” but “can’t confirm at this stage exactly when it will be delivered.”

Nokia noted that “the update will not span the globe all at once”, but pushed through over 4 weeks, starting today and then again on April 4th, 11th and 18th April. The reason for the staggered release is for carrier testing and approval. As to when we can expect this update to hit TELUS’ Lumia 800. Unsure. The update page states that the “Update not available,” with it currently saying that version 12070 “will not be launched for this product code and/or country.”

We’ve reached out to TELUS for an insight.
