Update: Nokia Lumia 900 data connectivity fix for Rogers coming “around April 20th”

Update #2: Nokia has updated its official Canadian Lumia 900 page with the following information:

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and as a gesture of goodwill, we are offering a $100 Rogers Wireless bill credit to everyone who has already purchased a Nokia Lumia 900 or who will purchase one before April 21st.

If you have already purchased a Lumia 900, you will be able to update your software with the fix beginning around April 20th.”

Update: We’ve received word from Rogers and Nokia that the update is not yet available to Rogers customers, and will become available soon. It will be made available via the Zune app for Windows and Windows Phone Connector app for OS X. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

As for questions having to do with the $100 credit, it is available for customers who purchased the Lumia 900 on a 1-, 2-, or 3-year term. Anyone with questions pertaining to the credit can contact the @Rogershelp team on Twitter or Facebook.

Nokia announced late last night that they had completed the necessary software fix for intermittent data connectivity problems in the Lumia 900. It was expected to be available “around” April 16th, but I reckon the company gave a conservative estimate in order to wow customers with an early release. And wow them they did.

In addition to giving every Lumia 900 owner a $100 credit on their Rogers bill (up to April 21st, so if you’re going to get one, get it soon!) but they’ve rolled out a very simple-to-install update for the device.

You’ll need to install the Zune software on Windows, or the Windows Phone 7 Connector software on OS X and, once installed, plug in your phone and the app will prompt you to install the update. Couldn’t be simpler.
