Asus Transformer Prime GPS dongle spied in its bulky glory

The Asus Transformer Prime has GPS issues. We all know this. And although the situation has improved with a number of OTA updates, the company deemed it necessary to go one step further and offer a free GPS dongle that slots into the dock connector of the Ice Cream Sandwich tablet.

While the company’s initial statement claimed that the add-on would be “flush” with the tablet, it seems more like a hat, or a stand, or something equally unattractive. It also looks like you can’t use it when plugged into the dock, or when charging your device, so it’s not really an all-the-time fix, but for those who are frustrated by not being able to pick up even the slightest of GPS signals even after the latest update, it’s the best possible solution.
