BlackBerry 10 slides show off home, lock screens, social media integration

A number of slides have leaked showing off the BlackBerry 10 interface and how various apps like Twitter and Facebook are going to look. While these are by no means definitive examples, and may just be mockups for the internal team to work with, it gives us a better understanding of what user dynamic RIM is going for, and how the glance/gesture/swipe model will differentiate it from existing mobile operating systems.

Like Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10 is going to be unlocked by swiping your finger up from the bottom of the screen. The model used to show off the slides looks a lot like the London leak we saw in January, leading us to believe that RIM has continued with that angular-designed handset.

From the outset, it also looks like BlackBerry 10 is going to be a very monochromatic operating system — lots of greys, whites and blacks — which suits us fine in the world of TouchWIZ Android and skeumorphic iOS.

The home screen looks to show off four of your latest-used apps, and you will either get to the app “drawer” or list by swiping left or right. It seems that the Dock, which includes Call, Search and Camera buttons, is not customizable, and the area at the bottom of the screen is used in all apps as a toolbar.

Hit the break to see a few more examples from the upcoming Twitter and Facebook apps, and let us know what you think.
