LG Optimus 2X upgrade to ICS looks like it’ll be available in Q3

There was hope that owners of various LG Android devices would be getting the anticipated upgrade to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich sometime in Q2. The initial list of device that would get the bump was long, including the LG Optimus LTE, LG Optimus 2X, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. Some of those devices are not available in Canada, but others like the Optimus LTE and the Optimus 2X are on several Canadian carriers.

For those who have the LG Optimus 2X – it’s available on Fido, Wind and Videotron – you might be waiting a bit longer than Q2. LG Singapore went to Facebook to state that “ICS upgrade will be available for the Optimus 2X in Q3 this year.” Of course, this is not official from LG Canada, but can’t see it getting pushed out quicker than Singapore. However, we’ve reached out to our LG Canada friends for further insight.
