HTC Desire C gets official, handled with care (Video)

The HTC Desire C is now official, and it’s every bit as pebble-like as the Galaxy S III claims to be. Resembling a cross between the Palm Pre and the One X, the Desire C is certainly going to be no one’s flagship, but it’s not trying to be.

The 3.5-inch 320 x 480 pixel handset has a 600Mhz single-core processor, 512MB RAM, a 5MP camera sans flash, Beats Audio and all the expected sensors and signals. And despite its low-powered hardware it manages to run Android 4.0.3 with Sense 4.0, although we’re not quite sure what HTC has had to remove or pare down. The device will come in three colours: white, black and red, and has the same matte polycarbonate finish as the One X. Not bad for a sub-$300 smartphone!

It’s expected to debut in Europe and Asia within in the coming months, with an international launch later on. Check after the break for a hands-on video.
