Tour the newest QNX reference vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler (video)

During CES in January we showed you how deeply QNX can integrate into the main- and secondary dashes in a car. The RIM-owned company has always had once hand in car interaction, but the latest reference vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, takes that integration to the next level.

The main dash looks to be running a modified form of QNX with full support for the car’s sensors. With 3G internet access you can stream music or navigate using the built-in GPS. The back seats also look to have PlayBooks attached to the headrests so passengers can enjoy individual entertainment.

We’re not sure if or when the QNX Car app will be integrated into market vehicles, but it seems a lot more advanced than the expensive touch-based dashes you get in modern cars.

Check out the full “making of” video after the break.
