Nike+ Running app for Android now available, iOS updated to version 4.0

Android users can now join “the world’s largest running club.” Nike has finally released their Nike+ Running App for Android, plus also updated the iOS app to version 4.0 with a new UI. The apps gives you the ability to set running goals, log the distance of your runs (via GPS), track the number of calories you’ve burned and view your average pace. For iOS users (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad) the UI has been updated and brings a cleaner interface with larger fonts/graphs. Both apps have a social aspect where you can “Share Run” via Facebook or Twitter and also gain some encouragement with the “Cheer Me On” feature. In addition, Nike has introduced “shoe tagging” into the apps – which really is taking shoes to another level. You can now type in the name of your shoe and track its distance, then Nike will “inform you of when it’s time to lace up a new pair.”

Both apps are free and can be downloaded here: iTunes & Google Play
