Bell Push-to-talk app for BlackBerry gets updated, fixes battery drain issue

Bell’s Push-to-talk (PTT) network went live in April and they released one device, the rugged Sonim BOLT. They also made the good choice of offering a PTT Android and BlackBerry app (currently only available for the Samsung Galaxy S II, Curve 9360 and the Bold 9900).

Good news today for those who’ve been using the app on the 9360. Apparently users have been complaining about an “unusual battery drain,” but today version 7.1.0.24 is available. This, according to an internal doc we received, “resolves excessive CPU usage causing fast battery drain.”

So there you have it, update here at BlackBerry World.
