New HTC device clocked at 1.7Ghz in leaked benchmark score, could be One X follow-up

There’s a new HTC phone being tested in the wild, going by the codename PM63100. But it also has a more familiar name — Evitareul — an extension of the Evita name that belongs to the LTE version of the One X.

The device has been briefly tested on GLBenchmark, and knocks the pants off both the North American and international variants of the One X, which run Snapdragon S4 and Tegra 3 SoCs respectively. The device is clocked at 1.7Ghz, too, which leads us to believe that it’s either an overclocked S4 or something altogether new.

At the moment, it’s running Android 4.0.4 but we’d expect it to launch with Jelly Bean. The device seems destined for North America as it has AT&T release-keys, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it hits Canada at some point in the near future.

Did you think that the One X wasn’t powerful enough? Looking for some more oomph in your smartphone? We’re eagerly awaiting what HTC has to offer.
