CyanogenMOD 9 Release Candidate 2 emerges, adds North American Galaxy S II and Note variants

The long road to gold status is coming to an end for CyanogenMOD 9, that ubiquitous custom ROM that we always seem to be talking about. Based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, the MOD has just entered Release Candidate 2 stage, bringing numerous stability and bug fixes to the table as well as official support for a number of new Samsung devices.

These include the Galaxy S II X (TELUS), Galaxy S II LTE (Rogers), Galaxy Note LTE (all carriers), Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and the Galaxy S III (international version). The team also says that these devices, in addition to the dozens of others certified for use with RC2, should be stable enough for “your mom to use,” though we somehow doubt the veracity of those claims.

Nevertheless, if you’re a custom ROM afficionado and want to stay on the stable side of life, hit up CyanogenMOD for all the details.
