Android 4.0 update rolling out to international Motorola RAZRs, is Rogers far behind?

With the release of the Bell Motorola RAZR V and the upcoming ATRIX HD LTE, Rogers once-mighty RAZR is looking a bit… tired. But the device is about to have some new life breathed into it when Rogers releases the update to Android 4.0.4 in the coming weeks.

The update has already started rolling out across Europe, with improved support for SmartActions, better battery life, much faster performance and a toned-down UI that more closely resembles Google’s stock Ice Cream Sandwich layout.

Unfortunately we don’t have a firm date for the Rogers RAZR update to ICS other than “Q3 2012” as reported on the company’s ever-changing upgrade chart. Considering Verizon’s DROID RAZR has already received the update, which is similar in many ways to the XT910 sold in Canada, we’re confident Motorola and Rogers are just sorting out the finer details of certification.

If you’re a RAZR user, how are you feeling about not having ICS yet? We’re going to be taking a look at the RAZR V in the coming days and let me tell you, if the RAZR update is anything like what I’m seeing on the V, you’re in for a treat.
