Google Goggles update now works on devices without autofocus

Google Goggles is one of the most interesting, and useful, apps on Android. It allows you to use your phone’s camera to identify paintings, translate signs and books, and do a number of other things we’d have considered magic only ten years ago.

The latest update, to version 1.9, for Android has brought compatibility for devices without autofocus cameras, allowing older handsets to utlilize the app’s amazing capabilities. Google has improved the app’s ‘continuous tracking’ abilities, as well as made QR code handling more robust.

In all, it’s a big update to a very useful app. Download Goggles for Android from Google Play.
