Apple’s Bob Mansfield not retiring, will work on “future products”

A cabinet shift has happened at Apple today. Bob Mansfield, Apple’s SVP of Hardware Engineering, announced plans to retire back in June, but today, Apple declared that he’ll be sticking around a bit longer and will work on “future products.” Probably see the iPhone 6, 7, 8, 9 and X, or the iPad 4, 5 and the heavily rumoured Apple TV.

With the news of Mansfield sticking around Apple promoted Craig Federighi, currently VP of Mac Software Engineering, and Dan Riccio, Apple’s VP of Hardware Engineering, to senior vice president roles. Both Federighi and Riccio will be given spots on Apple’s executive management team and report to CEO Tim Cook.
