Update: Bell says “HTC will not be updating the Incredible S with ICS”

This is a bit of unfortunate news. First it was the HTC Desire that was shunned of an upgrade to Android OS 4.0, now it’s the Incredible S. According to Bell’s Twitter feed they are reporting that “HTC will not be updating the Incredible S with ICS.” This goes against what HTC recently posted on their company blog – the Incredible S was on the list of devices that were “confirmed to get a tasty treat of Ice Cream Sandwich.”

No reason was given, but hold tight, we’ve reached out to Bell and HTC Canada for further insight.
More soon…

Update: Contrary to what Bell communicated on Twitter, HTC Canada sent us a link to their site that shows the Incredible S will get ICS:

“We’re really excited that we’ve already released Ice Cream Sandwich for a number of devices! While we know many customers are comfortable with their existing software, we also know others want the newest software available. For those of you who want that option, we’re pleased to say that we’ll be making ICS available for download on three devices: HTC Desire S, HTC Rhyme (global SKU) and HTC Incredible S. Even though we think the majority of customers will be happiest maintaining their current experience, we felt it was important to give you the choice. Once the downloads are available, they will be posted to our HTCdev website and links to the downloads will also be provided here.”
