iPhone 5 fully assembled from parts, compared to iPhone 4S and 3GS

The iPhone 5, or whatever it’s going to be called, is coming very soon. But before it does, there are likely going to be myriad leaks purporting to show the final built version. Well, nowhereelse.fr has just that, showing off what is believed to be the evolutionary design of the new iPhone.

You can see that it is taller, and has a metal backing instead of glass. The camera module also looks quite a bit smaller, but we’d imagine Apple has worked some magic in there to improve the quality. And while it appears narrower, it’s actually the new 16:9 ratio that helps it appear so.

From a side shot, you can see just how much thinner the iPhone 5 really is. Even compared to the relatively wait-like iPhone 4/S, it is practically see-through. And yet the device is expected to have a battery of the same or higher capacity as its predecessors.

From the front, you can see that the new iPhone has a centred front-facing camera and a slightly smaller headpiece, but other than that appears identical to the 4S.

What do you think of the new design? Did Apple stay too conservative? Will it be awkward to hold the new 4-inch screen because it is so narrow?
