Chrome for Android updated, now safer

Google has updated Chrome for Android to version 18.0.1025308, now claiming that “your browsing experience on Android just got safer” thanks to an improved sandbox. Jay Civelli, Google’s software engineer, noted in a blog post that “This release strengthens Chrome for Android’s sandbox technology, which helps ensure malicious mobile websites are contained and do not impact the entire browser. This is made possible by the innovative multi-process architecture in Chrome for Android, in conjunction with Android’s User ID (UID) isolation.” Of course, there’s the usual unknown bug fixes, but this update also brings a better experience for playing YouTube videos within the browser.
