Nokia Lumia 510 coming soon with $150 price tag, Windows Phone 7.8

How low can Nokia go? That’s the question as we spot the first evidence of the Lumia 510, another low-cost handset from the Windows Phone OEM. Like the 610, the 510 will sport the absolute minimum specs to keep WP7 running smoothly. Those inclue a 4-inch WVGA display, 256MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, a 5MP camera without a flash, and a thick, plasticky body.

The good news is that it will debut, first in China and then next year across the globe, at $150 or so, a price that could make it appealing to pre-paid phone users and those reticent to wade into the smartphone wars just yet.

Check a video of the device after the break, and you can look at our review of the Lumia 610 to get an idea of how an entry-level Windows Phone runs. No word on whether the device is coming to Canada, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it on Wind or Mobilicity at some point.
