Apple has crossed a seriously importantly milestone: it has sold over 100 million iPads since it was launched in early 2010.
Tim Cook has boasted that the iPad makes up 91% of tablet web traffic, despite the fact that industry sources claim the tablet’s market share is between 50 and 60%.
While Google and Amazon have together likely sold a few million Android-based tablets, it’s clear that the iPad is the king of the hill in the tablet industry. Perhaps when Google and Samsung announce a Nexus 10 tablet next week it will give Android the edge it needs against the torrent of iPads.
