Eastlink confirms wireless service is delayed again, now expected “early 2013”

Eastlink has faced several delays in launching their wireless network, but last week Lee Bragg, Eastlink’s CEO, gave a bit of hope and declared they were “close to a cellular announcement. It’s going to be soon.” Eastlink originally expected to have a wireless offering launch mid-2012, then they unfortunately pushed it to late-2012. With only five week remaining in the year and no devices or plans, Eastlink has officially updated their FAQ on their website to read “We currently expect to launch wireless service in early 2013.”

When Eastlink’s network does go live they’ll first be available in PEI and Nova Scotia, have a bundled service offerings and customers can “expect faster speeds, reliable coverage and fair pricing.” Bragg also was quoted as saying “there’s no first to market advantage for us, we’re not in a big panic. We really want to do this right.”
