Sony “Yuga” gets leaked again, 5-inch monster expected in early 2013

The 5-inch 1080p Sony “Yuga” is perhaps the company’s most-leaked smartphone to date. We’ve seen it show up in many forms, blurry and otherwise, and today’s leak looks to showcase finished hardware.

Expected to debut sometime in early 2013, perhaps even at CES, the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro-powered device promises to be a stunner. According to Eldar Murtazin, father of phone leaks, the phone sports a stunning display that is similar to the HTC Deluxe/DNA, but there’s potential for Sony to surprise us with a WhiteMagic variant, which adds a white subpixel to the regular RGB palette for extra brightness and/or prolonged battery life.

We’re also expecting a 12MP camera (similar, but not identical to the one found on the Xperia T), 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean preloaded with tons of Sony goodies. Whether or not the device can differentiate itself enough from the impending influx of 1080p Android devices, including the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S IV, remains to be seen. The Xperia ion, which debuted at CES last January, took over six months to come to market, so let’s hope Sony has its distribution ducks in a row before announcing this one.
