Sony Xperia Z spotted on the CES floor, hopefully there are a few more secrets left

We know “the extraordinary is coming,” and that hyperbolic adjective likely includes the Xperia Z, Sony’s upcoming flagship device. The 5-inch 1080p phone is expected to be announced tomorrow, at a press conference on the unofficial “first day” of CES.

The Xperia Z, which debuts a year after the Xperia S and ion, will be Sony’s largest, fastest and highest-resolution smartphone to date. It also goes up against offerings from HTC, Huawei and ZTE, as well as rumoured devices from Samsung and LG.

Like its Xperia T predecessor, the Xperia Z looks to utilize Google’s on-screen navigation buttons, though it’s not yet known whether the phone will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or the newer Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

We’re en route to Las Vegas and will bring you all the newness from the floor.
