Samsung has sold over 100 million Galaxy S devices since May of 2010


Samsung has resurrected themselves from a talk/text player to a powerhouse in the global smartphone market. Most of the accolades can be attributed to their Galaxy S family of devices. In a note on their blog today Samsung announced they’ve successfully sold over 100 million Galaxy S devices since launching in May of 2010 (2 years and 7 months). The Samsung Galaxy S and some of the entry-level devices look like they’ve contributed about 20 million units, plus the Galaxy S II has sold 40 million units in 20 months. The runaway success has been the Galaxy S III. This flagship was launched in May of last year and has sold 40 million units globally, which Samsung states has a “average daily sales are 190,000 units.”
