1Weather for Android gains tablet interface, lockscreen widgets in version 2.0

One of the better-looking weather apps for Android just got updated to version 2.0 today with a number of new features in tow.

1Weather, from the creators of Tweetcaster and Friendcaster, was released almost exactly a year ago. While it was gorgeous and adopted a horizontal-swipe navigation scheme that would become the norm, its performance on even the most modern devices was abysmal.

Today’s update fixes many of the issues that plagued v1, and introduces a native tablet interface that is sure to please owners of underserved Android tablets. There is also lockscreen widget support for users running Android 4.2 and a nicer radar section for those storm watchers out there.

The app update comes at a time of plenty for fans of weather tracking on Android. Not only has fan favourite Swackett come to the party but there are excellent free choices like Eye in the Sky, Weather Network, AccuWeather, Weather Underground, Weatherbug and more.
