Bell gives the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G its “End of Life” notice

RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook 4G on Bell has lasted a few months. This 7-inch LTE-enabled tablet officially launched on August 9th and according to this internal doc, plus the fact that it’s been removed from Bell’s site, reveals that it’s unfortunately been given an “End Of Life” notice. No reason as to why it’s been shelved, but Bell states that stores should continue to sell any existing inventory within the current pricing structure.” Certainly a shocking move. In addition to the 4G PlayBook reaching EOL, the entry-level BlackBerry Curve 9360 (black version only) has also been cut from the lineup.

Looks like Bell is making space for the big BlackBerry 10 devices! RIM will be announcing their new smartphones on January 30th – now only week away.
