Canadian pride coming at you today! Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) and BlackBerry have teamed up in a deal that will make BlackBerry ‘the Official Mobile Computing Partner’ of the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA) and Toronto Marlies (AHL).

This partnership will bring a range of new marketing efforts. BlackBerry will see their brand “in and around Air Canada Centre” in Toronto, plus they plan will be developing “new platforms that will enable teams to connect with fans by sharing information and updates.” We’ll probably see a slew of sponsored BB10 team apps. BlackBerry will also work with the Leafs and Raptors to create a new BBM Channel.

Andrew MacLeod, managing director for Canada at BlackBerry, said that “BlackBerry and MLSE share some key values: passion, determination and leadership. Together with MLSE and fans across the country, we are celebrating the spirit of ambition through excellence in Canadian sports, and we are honoured to stand behind some of the nation’s favourite sports teams that display the indomitable spirit the BlackBerry brand represents.”

The monetary value of the partnership were not disclosed, but the length is for 3-years.
