Google has been rumoured to release a new Nexus 7 with improved specs for months now. Previous launch dates were tipped for an official announcement at Google IO, but that date faded away. The newest date to hit the web is from ASUS’ live chat support. The agent breaks down a list of expected specs and declares the 7-inch tablet to become available sometime this month.

As for the components, the second-gen Nexus 7 will come with the same 7-inch display, but now in HD with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, run Android 4.3 and bring the rumoured quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The tablet will also have Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, plus sport an improved 5MP camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

While these specs are clearly not confirmation, the report indicated that the Nexus 7 refresh will see a 4,000 mAh battery, which is a downgrade from the current Nexus 7 battery at 4,325 mAh. No word on the price point, but you can expect the Nexus 7 to be around the $200 mark.
