Nexus 5 leaks, shows Android 4.4 KitKat boot screen

The Nexus 5 has already been leaked, but if the public was unsure of its authenticity before, this latest set of photos should quiet the naysayers.

LG appears to be locked in for the Nexus 5, and the previously-seen rear with a Nexus logo running vertically up the back cover seems to be accurate. The device also looks to have a centred front-facing camera, a large camera module with what looks like the same sensor, lens and flash from the LG G2, and a rubberized, textured backing for easy gripping, not unlike the new Nexus 7.

Ultimately, though, the Next Nexus looks remarkably similar to the Nexus 4 from the front, but should offer a far better experience, with improved battery life, a superior camera and, hopefully, a sturdier chassis less susceptible to cracking.

You can see from the videos that Android 4.4 KitKat will use a slightly different font, at least on the home screen, than 4.3 Jelly Bean, and the boot up sequence shares the same dancing Nexus colours as the previous version.

It’s not clear how long these videos will stay up, but the photos should be more than enough to whet your appetite.

To recap, the Nexus 5 is expected to be virtually identical to the LG G2, though with a slightly smaller 5-inch 1080p display, along with 2GB of RAM, 16-32GB of internal storage, multi-band LTE and pentaband DC-HSPA+, a 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, a 3000mAh 2300mAh battery with wireless charging, Bluetooth 4.0, and a Snapdragon 600 or 800 SoC.
