Samsung bringing Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear, Galaxy S3 mini and Galaxy S4 mini to Canada on October 4th

Here’s a whopper of an announcement to start your day.

Starting on October 4th, Samsung will begin selling the Note 3, Galaxy Gear, Galaxy S3 mini and Galaxy S4 mini in Canada, expanding a product line that is dangerously close to saturation. The Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) will follow in November.

While we don’t know pricing just yet, the most interesting product is indeed the flagship Note 3, which will be available on Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Mobilicity, MTS, SaskTel, Videotron, WIND Mobile and, most recently, Eastlink. TELUS already confirmed the availability date, so it was inevitable the rest of the incumbents would follow suit. We can’t confirm whether AWS-based carriers like WIND, Mobilicity and Videotron will receive stock the same day, but it’s likely the launch will be a bit later for them. The Note 3 will come in two colours, Jet Black and Classic White.

The Galaxy Gear smart watch will also be available on October 4th, and between the 4th and 6th will be discounted $100 when bundled with the Note 3. On its own, the Galaxy Gear will cost $299 and will be available in Jet Black, Wild Orange and Oatmeal Beige.

While we already knew that the Galaxy S4 mini was coming to Canada, perhaps the most perplexing addition to this story is that it will be released alongside the year-old Galaxy S3 mini, too. The 4-inch, 800×480 pixel AMOLED device comes with a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera, 8GB internal storage, Android 4.2 and LTE connectivity. AT&T is releasing the device for 99c, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see it launch for free on a 2-year contract and under $300 outright.

The Galaxy S4 mini is perhaps more interesting, with a 1.7Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED display, 8-16GB internal storage, an 8MP camera, a 1900mAh battery, LTE support and Android 4.2. Expect it to debut around $79 on contract.

Finally, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), with its 2560×1600 pixel IPS panel, octa-core processor and Android 4.3, will come to Canada some time in November, “just in time for holiday shopping,” according to the release.

We’re most interested in the Galaxy Note 3, but look forward to bringing you all the latest updates for these devices in the coming weeks.
