Samsung begins international rollout of Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update

Samsung has reportedly begun rolling out the official Android 4.3 update for unlocked Galaxy S4 devices in parts of Europe and Asia. The LTE-enabled I9505 model employs similar hardware to the Canadian version, so it’s not a stretch to assume Samsung is on track for a release in early to mid-November.

The Android 4.3 update brings a number of improvements, including official KNOX support, OpenGL ES 3.0 coverage, better camera performance, TRIM and ANT+ support, an updated TouchWIZ launcher with less lag and fewer redraws, Galaxy Gear support, and improved colour reproduction from the Super AMOLED screen.
Samsung is under pressure to bring the update to the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note II as soon as possible, since without it the phones can’t interface with the Galaxy Gear.

We’ve embedded a video with a few highlights of the update, courtesy of SamMobile.

We’ll let you know as soon as the update begins rolling out to Canadian users.
