Motorola is launching a Moto X-exclusive interactive game called Windy Day on October 29th

Motorola is teasing something called Windy Day for the Moto X, coming Tuesday, October 29th.

While they’re not revealing exactly what Windy Day will be, it looks to be a combination of augmented reality app, interactive story and quirky adventure game. The tagline reads, “A mouse, a red hat, a windy day and a smile. This is a new kind of story. Made by Motorola and Jan Pinkava. Brought to life only on the Moto X.”

Jan Pinakava is the co-director of Pixar’s Ratatouille, and has worked with Motorola to create this interactive game that takes advantage of Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU, in conjunction with Pixar’s OpenSubdiv language. According to DigitalFish, the company that worked with Motorola and Pixar on the project, this is the first use of OpenSubdiv on a mobile device.

According to DigitalFish, “our work included introducing ‘real-time mobile’ features into OpenSubdiv, such as animation-engine integration and extensive optimizations for OpenCL and OpenGL ES on Qualcomm’s Adreno 320 (Snapdragon 800) mobile GPU.”

A demo of the game was shown earlier this month at Qualcomm’s Uplinq conference, and it looks quite impressive for running off a mobile device.
