Camera+ 5 comes to iPhone with revamped editing tools, new icon

One of the most popular — and oldest — third-party camera apps for iPhone has reached its fifth version.

Available as a free upgrade to existing users, Camera+ 5.0 brings a “streamlined” interface with easier-to-master shooting toggles, but the pièce de résistance is an all-new editing suite that offers the “best quality adjustments, delivered in a very slick UI.”

More specifically, Camera+ 5.0 offers The Lab, a series of one-touch editing toggles that fix and zap photos to make them look clearer, softer, grainier, sharper, blurrier, brighter or shadow-ier.

One of the more interesting features, though, is the ability to crop a photo to perfect fit as a parallax-friendly iOS 7 wallpaper.

While Camera+ may not be a necessary addition to every iPhone user’s arsenal, at $1.99 it’s hard to resist taking it for a spin, especially as it provides a lot of features the too-simple default app doesn’t offer.
