Recollect for Android is a to-do app with a sense of direction

There are a number of great productivity apps on Android, many of which remind you to pick up the dry cleaning or to buy some milk at the right time.

But few are cognizant of your location, and use it to remind you to do those things not only at the right time, but in the right place. Fewer still — and this is a big deal — are as beautifully designed as Recollect.

Recollect is a new to-do app from avid Reddit user, scep12, who claimed to be unable to find a good-looking to-do app on Android, “so [he] built [his] own.” Using Google’s newer cards UI, it’s easy to add a Home or Work address, along with any other locations, specific or more generalized, that are used behind the scenes to generate reminders. Notifications are expandable on Android 4.1+, and can be actioned from within the shade itself.

The app is still in its infancy, and comes with few frills and no ads. Both may be coming in the future — the developer intends to add a premium version to support development alongside checklists, recurring tasks, sync and backup and, potentially, Google Task support, along with a tablet interface.

In its current state, Recollect is bare-bones but plenty usable, and shows a lot of potential.
