The National Do Not Call List now has 12,118,658 registered numbers, complaints on the rise

The CRTC has successfully fined a number of companies for violating telemarketing rules, such as Green Shield Windows for $65,000, Peak Windows for $35,000 and most notedly GoodLife Fitness Centres for $300,000.

Some new DNCL stats were released today by the CRTC. There are now a total of 12,118,658 registered telephone or fax numbers on the list, up from just over 12 million early December, and about 38,000 registered in January alone. The total number of complaints has reached 781,008, with January showing a monthly average of about 11,000, also up from previous months.
